Service Description

IronSight’s HVAC Technical Training program is a hands-on, real-world course focused on proper mobile air conditioning service procedures, technician confidence, and a true understanding of how HVAC systems operate. The goal is not simply memorizing steps, but helping technicians understand why procedures matter, how components interact, and how system performance is affected when critical service steps are missed. The course covers component identification and function, refrigeration cycle fundamentals, gauge set operation, temperature and performance testing, refrigerant recovery, evacuation procedures, accurate charging methods, leak prevention, and proper use of both shop and field service equipment. Technicians learn how compressors, condensers, evaporators, metering devices, switches, sensors, blower systems, and airflow controls work together to create cooling performance. IronSight teaches that strong diagnostics begin with strong theory of operation. When technicians understand how a system is designed to function, they are far better equipped to recognize abnormal pressures, poor cooling performance, airflow restrictions, electrical faults, contamination, and service-related issues that commonly lead to repeat failures. In addition to proper service technique, the course also covers diagnostics of the most common HVAC failure points and practical troubleshooting of every major system component. Technicians are taught how to evaluate compressor performance, condenser efficiency, evaporator concerns, metering device restrictions, clutch and control circuit faults, blower motor issues, sensor failures, refrigerant charge errors, and airflow-related problems using logical testing methods rather than guesswork or unnecessary parts replacement. Technicians also receive EPA Section 609 certification (pending successful test results), helping employers strengthen compliance while expanding in-house HVAC service capability. Pricing is per person with a three-person minimum enrollment and class size capped at ten participants to ensure strong interaction and hands-on learning value. Standard Mobile HVAC Class is a 3-day program priced per person, with a 3-person minimum and capped at 10 participants. Contact IronSight for scheduling options tailored to your operation. We understand the need to keep techs productive on the floor. Custom formats and focused training options may be available based on your team’s needs.

Cancellation Policy

Technical training classes may be canceled or rescheduled with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled start date.
