The Full Story

IronSight Consulting is a diagnostic consulting practice focused on helping auto, diesel, and equipment repair facilities address the underlying causes of technician turnover and chronic performance breakdowns.

Most organizations treat retention problems as hiring or compensation issues. In reality, technicians leave when systems quietly fail: training breaks down, expectations become unclear, leadership decisions create friction, and day-to-day work becomes harder than it needs to be.

IronSight exists to identify those failures before they become irreversible.

Our Approach

IronSight does not offer generic programs, motivational initiatives, or off-the-shelf solutions. The work begins with observation, analysis, and honest assessment of how a shop actually functions in practice.

This includes examining:

  • How technicians are trained and supported

  • How work flows through the shop

  • How leadership decisions translate at the bay level

  • Where expectations, accountability, and support are misaligned

Rather than assuming problems are interpersonal or attitudinal, IronSight focuses on structural causes. The goal is to understand why capable technicians struggle to succeed inside the system, not to assign blame.

Findings are grounded in real-world shop conditions, not management theory.

The Problems IronSight Helps Solve

IronSight Consulting is designed to address persistent, often misunderstood problems such as:

  • High technician turnover despite competitive pay

  • Training that exists in theory but fails in practice

  • “On-the-job training” that creates resentment and burnout

  • Leadership blind spots that unintentionally drive disengagement

  • Workflow and production pressure that undermine quality and morale

  • Repeated hiring cycles that never stabilize the workforce

These issues rarely appear overnight. They accumulate quietly until technicians disengage or leave, often without clear explanation.

IronSight helps make those patterns visible.

What Makes IronSight Different

  • Diagnostic, not prescriptive
IronSight identifies what is actually happening before proposing change.

  • Built for technical environments
The work reflects the realities of repair shops, not office-based assumptions.

  • Focused on systems, not personalities
Sustainable improvement comes from fixing structures, not labeling individuals.

  • Designed for leaders who want clarity
IronSight works best with organizations willing to examine their own systems honestly.

A Deliberate Focus

IronSight Consulting is intentionally selective. The goal is not volume, scale, or mass implementation, but meaningful engagement where insight leads to informed decision-making.

Some organizations are looking for quick fixes.
IronSight is built for those looking to understand the problem correctly before acting.

Retention improves when systems support competence instead of working against it.

Who IronSight Is Not For ?

IronSight Consulting is not the right fit for every organization.

This work is not designed for:

  • Organizations looking for quick fixes, motivational programs, or surface-level solutions

  • Leaders seeking validation rather than honest assessment

  • Environments where responsibility is consistently shifted downward without examining system design

  • Facilities unwilling to question existing training structures, workflows, or leadership assumptions

  • Situations where the goal is to replace people rather than understand why they are leaving

IronSight’s work requires openness to uncomfortable insights and a willingness to examine how decisions made at the leadership level affect day-to-day work on the floor.

If the expectation is a prepackaged program or a simple checklist, IronSight will likely not be the right partner.
